The Football Upcycling Program: a retired ball's second life

The PLYRS Football Upcycling Program gives retired footballs a second life. Together with brands, clubs and leagues we collect footballs at the end of their playing life and turn them into keychains, fan merchandise and custom wall art — every piece unique, every piece carrying the story of the matches it played.

How the program works

Clubs and leagues of any size can join. We collect footballs when they reach the end of their playing life, take them apart in our own workshop, and rework the panels into new products — from small keychains to custom 130 by 130 centimetre wall art.

Nothing is printed to fake it: the wall art is built from real upcycled football panels and finished by hand in The Hague. The personal touch is the product.

The ultimate fan experience

A ball that was kicked in real training sessions and matches becomes something a fan can own. Getting closer to your idol while working on a better world has never been this cool — that is the fan experience the program is built around.

For partner clubs there is a business case as well as a story: the program comes with guaranteed revenue, and it turns something clubs used to throw away into value for their supporters.

Why it matters

Upcycling keeps millions of footballs out of the waste stream every year and turns them into something circular, visible and real. It is the clearest expression of why PLYRS exists: the first football brand born with a sustainable end goal for the ball.

Want to give your club's retired footballs a second life? Start an upcycling program with us — we set it up together.
